Anemones
Fine-liner
A5
2024
This artwork was commissioned in 2024 and I had to centre my drawing around local marine life. I used some references of the kelp forest’s floor and centred the focal point around lush pink anemones.

I let the flow that fine liner allows to draw the linear seaweeds, anemone fronds and kelp.

Flow and Rhythm
Acrylic Ink
A4
2024
I created this ink painting as a way of calming myself down and reflecting on time and movement, as my hand and mind were in unison, I created any swirls and lines I wanted and let my brush just take up page space.

This painting was also created during a time I had a very busy mind and a schedule and needed a medium switch so I chose a vibrant blue ink which is a safe space for me and easy to pair with a green mossy background.

Mountainside Ericas
Fine-liner, Watercolour
A4
2025
I was inspired to draw from a photo which I took at the end of the first leg of a difficult overnight hike I did. Tired and ready for brekkie the next day, I went out quickly in the morning before others were up and found some pretty pink Erica's on the edge of a mountain side blowing in the breeze. The early morning sunshine was glowing brightly on the flowers all around so I tried to capture that glowing warmth of that morning.

I'll never forget the feeling of the sun and the fearful expectation of the decent back home. This artwork encapsulates all of the feelings of that weekend for me.

Digital Drawing
Digital Media
2024
This project was a fun way for me to practise flow and I created this during a time I was familiarising myself with digital drawing. I was inspired by stylised tapestries and rock art paintings; using those shapes I made this stylised landscape.
The imagery was taken by the concept of a root system and incorporating an above earth and below earth feeling which gave space to more than a surface level landscape and opened up for more interesting narrative.

Mountaintop in the Cederberg
Watercolour, Fine-liner
A4
2025
I was inspired by the scenery in the Cederberg to make a fine-liner rendering. I focussed on contrasts and textures; emphasising some fynbos and shadows to create an interesting natural landscape.
I've loved finding small moments of dialogue between fynbos and the rocks and mountains they inhabit, and then creating a personal and intimate scene which invokes a sense of nostalgia and connection.

Dry Yellow Fynbos
Fine-liner, Watercolour
A5
2025
I did a hike to the Maltese Cross rock formation and took a photo of some dry yellow fynbos flowers which seemed to be coming out of season; they were blowing gently in the breeze and were a brilliant yellow colour that I had to try and capture.

Cederberg
Fine-liner
A4
2025
After a mountain getaway I used a film photo I took as a reference and tried to capture the true beauty of the Cederberg during the peak summer season.

I looked into the texture of the hills and mountainside as well as the 'holding' feeling the valleys evoked.
